The Extraordinary Ordinary

A luminous celebration of the Isle of Wight, where poetry & art converge to transfer the familiar into the sublime. The Island's most recognisable sites are re-imagined through Gail's striking illustrations, rendered in high colour surrealism. The poetry draws on the layered histories of these places, giving voice to those who once inhabited them. The Extraordinary Ordinary is a testament to how beauty resides not only in grand moments, but in the quiet persistence of place.

Rooted in Time

A reflective and richly imagined story told through the voice of an ancient tree. More than four hundred years old, the tree has remained in the same place since it first took root as a seedling. Yet it has witnessed generations of change around it. As it begins to feel the weight of its age, the tree shares the stories it has gathered. It remembers the people who have rested beneath its canopy, the storms, the steady imprint of human intervention, and the wildlife that lives within its branches and around its roots.

Across centuries, this unmoving witness has known abundance, loss and renewal. Its life has been full and layered despite never taking a single step from its rooted spot.

Rooted in Time invites the reader to slow down, recognise the deep histories held within the natural world, and to listen more carefully to the voices that have always been there.
